WHAT CAN YOUR ARCHEOLOGICAL CONSULTANT DO FOR YOU?

• Identify sensitive project areas.

• Identify project areas that are not sensitive.

• Help you design a project that avoids all    sensitive areas and avoids the need for an    archeological study. 

• Identify project areas that have been    previously disturbance (note: plowing does not    constitute disturbance).

• Help you avoid recorded archeological sites.

• Help you write a "request for proposal" to hire    an archeologist to conduct an archeological    study.

•  Help you evaluate proposals from     archeologists.

•  Prepare correspondence and legal documents     such as "no adverse effect" letters and       memoranda of agreement.

•   Conduct archeological studies, evaluate site      significance, recommend mitigation measures.
